Thomas Valdemar Nelson of Queen Creek AZ, passed away on August 26, 2012 in Gilbert, Arizona. He was 74 years old. Thomas was born on November 2, 1937 in San Diego, California to Valdemar and Genevieve Nelson. He was raised in Southern California and graduated from Pharmacy School at the University of Southern California and was a Pharmacist for 50 years. He met Kathleen Seely while working on a strawberry farm in Oregon. They married on June 6, 1966 and bought a drugstore in Clatskanie, Oregon. He and his wife raised five children on 30 acres of land where he enjoyed raising cows and being outdoors. Tom had a passion for travel, especially in his motorhome. He and his wife travelled the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, Canada and Mexico in their motorhome in addition to international travels to China, and throughout Europe. With his wife, he lived in San Marcos and Perris, California and Las Vegas, Nevada before settling in Queen Creek, Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Kathleen Nelson of Queen Creek, his daughter Theresa Nguyen of California, her husband Tam, their daughters Madelaine, Alyssa and Julianne Nguyen, of Corona, California, daughters Lisa Nelson of California, Susan Nelson of Portland, Oregon, Victoria Nelson of California and son Timothy Nelson and his wife Diane and their daughters Sofia and Ava Nelson, of Queen Creek, Arizona. A visitation will be held on Thursday August 30, 2012 from 6 to 8PM at Falconer Funeral Home, 215 W Juniper Ave, Gilbert AZ 85233. Funeral Services and interment will be scheduled in Oregon at a later date.
