Captain John-Charles Ryan Brannon born May 4th 1989 passed away March 22, 2016. Ryan was active duty in the US Army, and stationed at Joint Base Lewis McCord, 1 Corps. in Washington state, where he lived with his wife Josey. Ryan graduated from Red Mountain High School in Mesa, AZ in 2007. He served in the JROTC before joining the United States Military Academy at West Point where he graduated in 2011 as the top of his class. Captain Brannon served with the 2nd Engineer Battalion at White Sands Missile Range. Deployed to Afghanistan, from 2012-2013, he was dedicated to protecting his country. Ryan loved life, his wife and his family; he was loved by all those who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Josey Theresa Brannon, mother, Cheryl McAllister and Steve of Gilbert, AZ; father, Michael Brannon and Virginia of Palmdale, CA; sister, Ashley of Mesa AZ; brother, Matthew of Gilbert AZ; mother-in-law, Karen Troester and Richard; sisters in law Nicole and Ashley Troester of Grand Junction, CO; grandparents, Gary and Jeannie Poole of Lancaster, CA and many extended family. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 8 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Phoenix, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, AZ. The Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 9 at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W. Juniper Ave. Gilbert, AZ. A Reception will follow immediately after the service at the Gilbert Community Center. Flowers may be sent to Falconer Funeral Home for the memorial service on April 9. Donations can be made in Ryan Brannon"s name to the Second Amendment Foundation to help with gun education and protecting our second amendment rights. The family requests that attendees of the funeral services wear some form of red. Red is a representation for Engineer red. Ryan was an engineer to the core and would have loved this gesture. We will miss him greatly.
