SURLS, CLYDE R. 83, passed away peacefully in his home on January 22, 2009 after a courageous battle with Parkinson"s disease. He was born August 22, 1925 in Elkhart, Indiana. He is a Navy Veteran. He retired from Honeywell, Inc., 22 years ago where he enjoyed his drafting design work. He also had a passion for genealogy and word puzzles. Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol; 6 children: Ray Surls (Linda), Jacquie Porter (Bob), Rick Surls (Becky), Randy Surls (Helen), Janet Surls, Ron Surls (Linda); 21 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 27th at 10:00 am at Bethany Community Church, 6240 S. Price Road, Tempe, AZ, 85283. Internment will be held at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024, at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Clyde to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower, Phoenix, AZ 85014-5656.
