Carol Ann Pettit

With great passion and sorrow, our family says good-bye to our Matriarch of the Pettit family. Carol Ann Pettit (Smith) was born December 1st 1942 and passed on September 5th 2016. Survivors include son Craig Pettit, daughter in law, Christy Pettit, daughter Christa Pettit Rocha. Her beloved grandchildren Jordan Pettit, Kelsie Zdanowics, Hayden Pettit-Pittenger, Lexi Pettit and Juliana Pettit. She was wife to Charles Pettit (deceased) and daughter to Cecil Smith and Lera Long. Carol was born in Effingham Illinois. Graduated Effingham high school and went on to nurses training. For 20 plus years she provided medical care in many medical settings as Registered Nurse/Case Manager. She made countless friends and "framily", over the years. She loved and supported her family fiercely. She had an open door policy with her good friends. There are many pictures and stories and personal experiences that tell her life story. We can say she was the life and the happiness of many celebrations. She made every holiday magical for her children and grandchildren. Carol had a sisterhood of friends that made our home a fun and many times exciting place to be. There are no words to describe the depth of loss felt by her family and friends.
