Lisa Walker Lisa LaPreal (Bevans) Walker was born May 31, 1968, in Murray, Utah, to Russell D. Bevans and Linda Thorup Bevans, she was the first child of nine. She succumbed to cancer on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in Eugene, Oregon after a three year valiant battle. Lisa graduated from North Eugene high School with honors in 1986 and went on to graduate from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She then taught school in Utah until she started her family. Lisa married Alan Craig Walker in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 24, 1995, and the family moved to Eugene in 1999. Lisa and Alan have five children: Leilani LaPreal Walker, Emilyanne Eileen Walker, Elisabeth Marie Walker, Benjamin Alan Walker and Robert Jack Walker. She loved being a mother and received so much joy from her children. She devoted her life to them. Lisa was very active at the schools her children attended. She volunteered in the library at Yujin Gakuen Elementary and ran the Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) program. She enjoyed serving and was available to help where needed. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings. She loved the people she served, especially the young women and her primary children. She was an excellent teacher. Lisa is survived by her husband and five children, her mother and father, five brothers, Todd (Allison) Bevans of Monmouth, Christopher (Tricia) Bevans and Jeffrey (Lanelle) Bevans of Eugene and Mark (Shauna) Bevans and Michael (Alicia) Bevans of Utah and two sisters Karilyn (Jeremy) McRoberts of Utah and Kimberly (Kelly) Weber of Eugene. She was preceded in death by her youngest sister, Jenalee Elisabeth Bevans. Lisa will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She is an example to us all for the positive attitude she exhibited during her battle. She fought each day to make it her best and she kept smiling until the end. Her great faith sustained us all. A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 550 North Danebo Ave., Eugene, OR, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service. All are welcome to attend. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
