Roberto Rivera

"Roberto Rivera Jr., 66, of Casa Grande, Arizona passed away, surrounded by family, on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from cancer in Chandler, Arizona. Roberto was born September 25, 1950, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. At age 12 he moved to Chicago, Illinois. He received a degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Illinois. He was one of the founding members of the Kiwanis Club at UofI (Circle K). He later began work as a federal investigator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He eventually settled in Arizona with his family, where he worked until his retirement in 2015. He enjoyed helping people: family, friends, and strangers alike. His favorite pastimes involved spending time with his grandchildren, taking care of his fish, gardening, shopping, and channel surfing. Roberto is survived by his three sons, Jason, Justin, and Jamie, his wife Jaqueline, his five grandchildren, Michael, Aiyanna, Ian, Jacquelyn, Jairek, and his sister Alba Santiago, nÁ©e Rivera (Her husband Juan Santiago and their children Juan Julio, Sonya, Ivonne), and sister Rosa and brother Jaime, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roberto and Ramona, and his brother Julio. A time of gathering and viewing for friends and family will be held on Thursday, April 27th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Falconer Funeral Home in Gilbert, Arizona. Funeral services for Roberto will be held Friday, April 28th at 10:00am at St. Anne Catholic Church in Gilbert, Arizona."
