Major James (Jim) W. Colasanti, US Army retired, born November 26, 1945, has gone to be with the Lord. He passed peacefully surrounded by family on Aug 28, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Phil and his eldest son, David. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Maureen, his 3 children, Dennis Colasanti, Monica (Rocky) Forthofer, and Keri Colasanti; his 4 grandchildren, his sister Janet (Gerry) Henderson, sister-in law, Jean Colasanti and nieces and nephews whom he adored. During James"s military career, he stood guard at the Berlin Wall. He was an ROTC instructor at Drexel University and was involved in creating the ARMY slogan "Be All You Can Be". He was a very proud Family man and Military American. He loved his country and the men he trained to protect it. He was a man with a solid Catholic faith and he was a strong pillar in his Catholic Church Community as well as his Marriage Encounter Community, both of which, he was actively involved for many years. He has touched so many hearts and will be fondly remembered. A Visitation with a Rosary will be held at Falconer Funeral home, 251 W. Juniper in Gilbert, AZ 85233 on Sunday, Sept 3rd from 6-8 pm. The Holy Rosary will be at 7pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Sept 4th at 10am at St. Anne Catholic Church in Gilbert. 440 E. Elliot Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Anne"s Catechesis of the Good Shephard or The Wounded Warriors Project in his name. As James (Jim) would say, GBYRG (God Bless You Real Good)!
