Travis Wade MacKinnon

Travis Wade MacKinnon, 47, of Chandler, AZ, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021, with his three favorite girls by his side. Travis was born in Florence, CO, December 28, 1973 to Gene and Gayle (Palmer) MacKinnon. He grew up playing sports and riding his motorcycle in the hills with his older brother, Clint, and friends, west of Florence. In high school Travis enjoyed working hard and held down 3 jobs. He spent each summer as a lifeguard at the City of Florence Municipal Pool and also worked at DiRito"s Italian Restaurant and Skyline Superfoods during the school year. After graduating Florence High School in 1992, Travis moved to Phoenix, AZ to pursue an Arts degree. His love for architecture led him to Linderoth Associates Architects, where he spent 25 years working as a Senior Project Manager and eventually became a shareholder. Travis leaves behind his wife of 15 years, Theresa; 13 year old twin daughters, Ashley and Danielle; parents, Gene and Gayle MacKinnon of Florence, CO; brother Clint (Angela) of Edmond, OK; Grandma Gwynn Palmer of Mesa, AZ; Uncles Dean (Jenny) of Rockvale, CO; Steve (Tracy) of Midwest City, OK; Richard of Port St. Joe, FL; Aunt Kay of Dodge City, KS, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a very special friend, Coach Paul Villagrana. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother; both grandfathers; three uncles; two aunts; three cousins; and his professional mentor Terry Linderoth. A memorial service is planned in Gilbert, AZ at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Falconer Funeral Home, with a burial service to follow on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Union Highland Cemetery, Florence, CO under direction of the Holt Family Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made out to the Florence Volunteer Fire Department, 300 West Main Street, Florence, CO 81226.
