Kristine Bartholomew Barlow

Kristine Bartholomew Barlow was born to Ruth Baird and Roy Mark Bartholomew in Payson, Utah on April 28, 1952. After courageous battles with cancers, she peacefully passed away at home on May 20, 2022, at the age of 70, surrounded by her loving family. A private graveside service honoring her will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, at the Gilbert Memorial Park, where she will be buried. Kris graduated from Springville High School in Utah in 1970. She married Philip Marc Barlow of York, Pennsylvania in the Provo Utah Temple on February 9, 1978. Kris and Marc had five biological children: Becky (Joel Tiffany), of Gilbert, Arizona; Eric (Nicole) of West Palm Beach, Florida; Ryan (Ashley) of Mesa, Arizona; Emily (Tommy Nhoksayakham); and Stephanie (Peter Phend) of Gilbert, Arizona. Kris and Marc also welcomed two daughters from Moldova to their home, Elena of Draper, Utah, and Jeni of Mesa, Arizona.Kris loved music of all kinds"”from Beethoven to the Beatles. She was an accomplished violinist and pianist. She instilled the love of music in her extended family, gifting the world with cellists, violinists, harpists, and pianists among her children and grandchildren. After their marriage, Kris and Marc lived in Florida, Utah, and New York. They eventually settled in Gilbert, Arizona where they spent the past 35 years. Kris loved cooking throughout her life. She was a talented baker who was known to bake over two dozen pies for Thanksgiving. Kris was also adept at bookkeeping and managing their family businesses and was a great helpmeet for her husband. Kris was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many of the church organizations as a leader, teacher, and advisor. For the past several years she was zealously engaged in family history work, discovering hundreds of names for her family tree. Kris is survived by her husband Marc & her beloved 14 grandchildren; by her parents and sister Joan (Mark Roth) of Mapleton, Utah; and by her three brothers, Royce (Jan) of Fruit Heights, Utah, and Ray (Ann) and David (Lynette) of Springville, Utah. Kris will be greatly missed, but her legacy will be remembered for generations. She was an exemplary follower of Christ and a loving sister, friend, daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother.
