Kenneth Czar

On Monday, July 25th, 2022, Kenneth Czar, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 70. Ken was born to Joseph and Lorraine Czar on April 23rd, 1952, in Detroit, MI. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School in Warren, MI, in 1970 and immediately began his career. Ken was an entrepreneur at heart, owning licensing and marketing companies Button Up, Button Exchange, and Czar Marketing. He also had a passion for the food service industry owning "Dog "˜N" Suds" early in his career and a series of Subway franchises later. Always a man of reinvention, Ken had a successful third career owning Czar Landscape Services in San Diego, CA. After retirement, Ken moved to Chandler, AZ. Ken was unapologetically rebellious and often had a unique point of view. His passions included cooking, politics, gardening, business, fantasy football, traveling, movies, and music. He always looked to help the underdog and was proud to see others achieve their goals. As a native Detroiter, he loved the Tigers, the Wolverines, the "Bad Boys" era Pistons, and he accurately predicted the Lions would not win a Super Bowl in his lifetime. Ken enjoyed the water, swimming in Lake Erie as a child, boating on Lake Charlevoix as an adult, and spending many evenings overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Above all, Ken loved his wife, children, and grandchildren unconditionally and was always available to lend a sympathetic ear, a word of advice, or a mischievously witty comment. He is survived by his wife Liping, his two children, Sarah and Nicholas, his grandchildren, Alexander and Olivia, and his dog, Buddy. Ken requested cremation and did not want a service.
