Marilyn Sue Morgan
October 29th, 1950 - March 11th, 2011
Sue Morgan, age 60, died at her home in Gilbert, Arizona on March 11, 2011. She was born on October 29, 1950 at Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois. She lived in Algonquin, Illinois until age 13 when she moved with her family to Garden Grove, California. While there she graduated from Pacifica High School in 1968. She concluded her degree in education at California State University, Dominguez Hills in 1974. Marilyn, enjoyed concerts from Elvis to George Strait. Family and friends were especially important to her, and she loved having a full house of company. Mrs. Morgan was well known as a kindergarten teacher for 28 years, both in California and in Crismon Elementary School in mesa. She was nominated numerous times for "Who"s Who Among America"s Teachers". She retired in 200. She especially enjoyed following the lives and careers of her former students. Her trademark in life was her perpetual smile that she shared with everyone she met. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Scott Morgan of Gilbert, AZ; son, Kevin Morgan of Queen Creek; daughter, Jamie Morgan, Fort Huachuca; mother, Ruth Scanlon; sister, Carol Scanlon and three brothers, Tom Scanlon, Sean Scanlon, and Pat Scanlon. Marilyn is preceded in death by her father James Scanlon. A Memorial service for Marilyn Morgan will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 2540 W. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ 85202. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ.
