Susana Cervantes

Susana Cervantes December 29, 1953- October 12, 2023 Susana “Sue” Cervantes of Salinas, CA passed away on October 12, 2023. Sue was the daughter and 6th child of Maria and Emeterio Cervantes. Sue is preceded in death by her first son Mauricio Mendoza and survived by her youngest son Gilbert Rodriguez, she expired at her home in Mesa, AZ after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her son Gilbert, her sisters Nancy Quiane of Salinas, CA , Esther Cervantes Figueroa of Salinas, CA , Celia Cervantes of Salinas, CA, Gina Cervantes of Salinas, CA, Clara Cervantes Paterson of Elk Grove, CA, and her faithful dog Diego. Sue’s siblings who preceded her in death are her beloved sister Martha Reyes Cervantes of Salinas, CA, and cherished brothers Anthony Cervantes and George Cervantes of Marysville, WA. Sue deeply loved all her family, her adoring nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, she made many dear and close friends through High School, extended family, her places of employment, neighbors, and loving kindred spirits at her local dog parks. Sue married after High School and moved to the El Centro area, where her first son Mauricio was born. A few years later, they moved to San Diego, then onto Los Angeles. She worked at Pacific Piston Co., and the Board of Equalization. After being a devoted single mother, she met and married Gary and had her second son; they moved to Las Vegas, then onto the greater Phoenix area. It was here that Sue worked for the Maricopa County Assessor's Office as an Administrative Assistant for nearly 20 years, and since retired in 2016. Susana’s family is having a private and final farewell. Thank you all, for sending your deepest condolences to her loved ones.
