Arthur "Art" Hauser
July 11th, 1923 - January 27th, 2015
Art was born in Iowa to Walter and Selma Hauser and was the youngest of six. His father died when art was four and his mother died when he was five. He lived with his maternal grandparents on an 80 acre farm in Minnesota until he finished eighth grade. At thirteen, with help from his uncles from Iowa, he ran away from his grandparents; abusive home and returned to Iowa where he worked full time for farmers in the Charles City area. He never attend high school. He first heard the message of salvation at nineteen and accepted Christ as his personal Savior. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he moved to Portland to attend Multnomah Bible College. He met Arleen Deedon in December 1947 at a friends’ wedding, and they were married a year later. They were married for 64 years. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1955. In 1957 they moved back to Portland and he opened an office in Woodstock area, out of which he operated Hauser Realty, Hauser Tax Service, Hauser Real Estate Investment and Rentals, and Hauser Insurance Services. In 1969 the family moved to a 54 acre farm near Aurora and in 1981 acquired a 40 acre farm near Molalla. They sold the farms and moved to Molalla in 1998. He served as a laymen in Baptist Churches wherever they lived, and was most recently a member of Grand View Baptist Church. He was strong financial and prayer supporter of the local church he attended as well as evangelical ministries and missionaries around the world. He was predeceased by his wife, Arleen, and his five siblings (Fred, Ernie, Carl, Clarence, and Lydia). His is survived by his four children, James, David (Valerie), Selma Bull (Jim) and Stephen (Cindy). Six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to New Hope Farms (P.O. Box 89, Goldendale, WA. 98620), a nonprofit, faith based organization that provides a home in a supportive family environment for development=tally disabled adults. His son James, lives there. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on February 15, 2015 at Grand View Baptist Church 14855 South Leland Road, Beavercreek, Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Molalla Funeral Chapel
