Richard Schram was born in Earling, Iowa to Henry and Mathilda Schram. The family relocated to Southern California in 1965 where Richard worked detailing cars for qa Ford dealership and cleaned patrol cars and helicopters for the California Highway Patrol. In 2005 he moved to Canby to be closer to family. While in Canby, Richard could be found riding his bicycle or waling around town smiling and waving to his many friends. He spent most of his days volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank or the Canby Adult Center where he loved to help deliver Meals on Wheels. He faithfully attended Sunday Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church with his family and friends. Known by all, Richard was always ready with a handshake and a smile. Family was very important to Richard. He loved being surrounded by his siblings, their children and his many great-nieces and nephews. He is survived by Duane Schram, Jo Rose, Carol Roberson, Ed Schram, Janet Buchanan, and Patty Longstreet. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Canby on January 26, 2016 at 11:00 am. A luncheon will immediately follow in the parish center. The burial took place at Zion Memorial Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's name to St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank or to the Canby Adult Center, Canby, Oregon.
