Damon Andrew Delaney

Damon Andrew Delaney of Gilbert, AZ passed away suddenly on December 20, 2018, he was 46 yrs old. Damon came into the world smiling and with a large voice. He was loved by all that met him due to his humor, smile, quick wit and fun-loving nature. Born in Spencer, Iowa he moved to Mesa, AZ at 8 months old, and then he moved to Montrose, Colorado in 1984 when he was entering junior high school. He played both football and baseball in school. After graduating from Montrose High School in 1990, he spent time in Arizona and Iowa, attended community college, making lots of friends along the way. After his son Deven was born in 1998, he relocated to Saint Louis Missouri and later completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He met his long-time sweet heart Leah there as well. He worked for Fall Protection Systems Corporation as a mechanical engineer for many years before re-locating to Gilbert where he worked for San Tan Ford. He loved to cook had a dream to own a bed and breakfast. All of us will miss his big heart, his wit and presence in this world. Damon is survived by his son Deven Delaney (20); significant other Leah Sylvester of St. Louis; Mother Pamela Shippy (Bob) of Mesa; siblings Blake Delaney (Keiva) of Ames, Iowa; and Carman Delaney (Kyle) of Scottsdale; Father James Delaney of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and many extended family members. Memorial Services to honor Damon will be held on January 5, 2018 at 11am at the Red Mountain United Methodist Church, 2936 N. Power Road, Mesa AZ 85215. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his son Deven Delaney.
