George Victor "Snuffy" Smith
March 8th, 1951 - March 29th, 2022
George Victor "Snuffy" Smith passed away on March 29, 2022 at age 71, in Glendale, Arizona after battling a few serious medical issues in recent months. George was born on March 8, 1951 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, to Ed and Belle Smith. He graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in 1969. He honed his skills at being a heavy equipment and diesel mechanic including going to some trade schools which lead him to start his own mobile service business specializing in heavy equipment repair, diesel truck repair, welding, and fabrication for over 35 years. George is survived by his son, Jason Smith; daughter, Rebecca Rosario; grandson, Garrison Smith(Stefanie); life partner Bonnie McKee, step daughter, Angie McKee; granddaughter, Krissy McKee; brother, Dennis Smith(Beth); sister, Susan Browning; sister, Marsha Wagner(Conrad); brother, Brad Smith(Lori); sister, Cheryl Sharp; sister, Lori Smith Hibbard; many nephews, many nieces, and friends. He was preceded in death by his eternal companion and first wife, Pennie Julius Smith; sister, Nancy Duff; sister, Barbara Riley; and brother, Lance Smith. George had a great love for music, fishing, and hunting among many other joys. Everyone that really knew him knows he had a giving, passionate, and mischievous nature. He loved his family and friends. A Celebration of Life service for George Victor Smith will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2939 Rose Garden Ln, Phoenix AZ.
