Patricia Stringer
May 3rd, 1942 - August 23rd, 2021
Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister and Friend Patricia (Pat) Alice Stringer went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2021, at the age of 79. Born in Utica, New York on May 3, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Arthur Tompkins and Alice May Tompkins (Lasher). She moved to Phoenix, AZ as a young child and remained here the rest of her life. She attended Central High School and graduated in 1960. On September 24, 1960, she married Dennis Stringer and that was the start of a beautiful family. Together Pat and Dennis have 5 children, 15 grandkids, 9 great grandkids and 3 more on the way. Pat was a homemaker. She was a constant in her children’s lives and was always there as a support. She attended countless football games, baseball games, music concerts, dance concerts, all the school activities and church activities her kids were involved in. She was fondly remembered as a Cub Scout den mother and school room mother by her older boys. Her house was a gathering place for friends, and she was always ready to feed anyone. After all her kids were grown and moved out, she went to work as a preschool assistant with Madison Preschool. She worked there until she was blessed with twin grandsons and was excited to help take care of them along with their two siblings. Always family first. She was a member of Madison Baptist Church for over 40 years and loved to serve. She was a helper you could always count on. You could find her in the kitchen cooking for the church family, or in the nursery holding the babies, or helping in Sunday School classes. She also was involved for many years with the women’s ministry and had many friends whom she loved. Pat is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, Dennis Stringer, her children, Kenny (Lorie), Dan (Julia), Tim (Terri), Kristi (Andy) and Joe (Kristin), 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, brothers Bob (Norma) and Bill (Marta). She was predeceased by her parents, Art and Alice Tompkins, and sister, Judy Bullard. A private graveside was held at Resthaven Cemetery on September 2nd.
