Donald DickinsonFLORENCE — A memorial service will be held at noon Jan. 23 at the First Baptist Church in Eugene for Donald M. Dickinson of Florence, formerly of Eugene, who died Jan. 12 as the result of an accident. He was 74. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Jan. 23 at the Masonic Cemetery at 25th Avenue and University Street in Eugene.He was born April 3, 1935, in Eugene, to Delton and Edith Waite Dickinson. He married Lora Sharkey June 17, 1956, in Parkdale.He attended River Road Elementary and Colin Kelly Junior High and graduated from Eugene High School in 1953. He attended Eugene Vocational School and the University of Oregon.Dickinson served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a mechanic for Boeing and United Airlines in Seattle and taught at Lane Community College.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy Dickinson of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Richard of Springfield and Bill of Eugene; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A grandson, Daniel Dickinson, and a great-granddaughter, Jatoria Hall, died previously.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to the Oregon Coast Military Heritage Museum.
