Beulah Deterding

Beulah "Bea" L. Deterding, 88 of Sun City West, Arizona, daughter of Fredrick and Nola Shaw, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018, born January 16, 1930 in Labette County, Kansas; married to Mark Edward Deterding August 4, 1972. Bea loved to cook, go to garage sales and play Gin Rummy and Spoons. She loved to travel, went to Australia and Fiji and collected rocks wherever she went. She loved animals especially her two desert tortoises, Tonopah and Arizona, and her box turtle Kansas. Bea worked at a bowling alley, Parson's ammunition plant, school cafeteria, lumber yard, hotel hospitality, and was a manager of a hardware store. Bea never sat down more than two minutes; she was always up cleaning, cooking, watering her plants, and spending time with her family. She was as honest as the day is long. She is survived by her husband, Mark Edward Deterding, one daughter Katherine Cromie, her husband Neil, two son's Kenneth "Kenny Whopper" Bowlin, his wife Linda, and Michael Deterding, his wife Sherry. Eight grandchildren: Katie, Michael, Neil Jr., Alicia, Katrina, Sara, Zach B. and Zach D. Eight great-grandchildren: Cameron, Brea, Joshua, Brett, Mikayla, Bryson, Madeleine, and Ezra. She was also survived by one Brother, David Ong, his wife Nancy, one sister Sue Pilkington, her husband Ed, her brother-in-law Bill Bradford; and numerous nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by her parents, 6 brothers Lee Shaw Jr., William Shaw, Kenneth Bradburn, Lee Yock, Charles Shaw, Roy Shaw and 3 sisters Pearl Ashmore, Edna Brooks, and Mary Bradford. Services will be graveside Monday, July 23, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
