Frank Armstrong Bishop
May 26th, 1939 - August 8th, 2023
With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, we announce the passing of our kind, brave, and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Frank Armstrong Bishop was born on May 26, 1939 and peacefully went to be with Jesus on August 8, 2023. He was surrounded by family at his passing. Frank was born in Bountiful, Utah to Max and Florence (Floss) Bishop. He graduated from Davis High School in 1957. Upon graduation, Frank enlisted in the Air Force, serving out of Hill AFB for 6 years. He was Honorably Discharged as an Airman 1st Class. He then attended Weber State in Ogden, Utah. On June 2, 1962, Frank married Suzanne (Sue) Fowler in Salt Lake City, Utah and they had 2 sons, Max and Kenny. Frank and family lived in Layton and then Kaysville where Frank was employed by Boeing to work on the Minuteman Missile project. Frank moved his family to Kalama, WA in 1972 when he became employed by Cowlitz County. The Bishop’s built their house on the Kalama River where the Bishop boys spent a lot of time and caught many salmon and steelhead. Frank remained with the County as Administrative Director until he retired in 2001. Frank and Sue then moved to Arizona to be closer to their boys and grandson. Frank was known for his woodworking and fishing skills and being an all-around prankster and jokester. Frank is survived by his wife, Sue, and sons Max (Peoria, AZ) and Kenny (Suzanne) (Phoenix, AZ); grandson Bailey (Tempe, AZ); Sister Helen (Paul) Love (Layton, UT); beloved nieces and nephew Heather, Keri, Jenni, Debbie, and Chris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Floss.
