Charlotte "Freeland" Virginia Savage

Obituary Charlotte is a Native of Arizona born in Coolidge, Az. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Minda Freeland and her husband Kenneth “Doc” Savage. Our Loving Mother, Sister and Aunt passed away peacefully after a short battle with an aggressive cancer. She was an ardent reader and often finished a novel in a single day. One of her greatest loves was playing the piano which she self taught and played by ear amazingly. She had many careers in her lifespan including, being a Realtor, Cashier, Country Store Manager, Hotel sales manager, Car rental agent and more. Her favorite was just being a Grandma. She had a pilot's license and once bent a prop on a small plane during a rough landing. Her smile and personality brightened up any room she entered. She loved to tell jokes and entertain those around her. One of her favorite things towards the end of her life was to share her favorite childhood memories and the trials and tribulations of growing up with 7 siblings. Charlotte was a wonderful Sister, Mom and Grandmother and loved her family immensely. She is survived by her brother Roland Freeland, sisters Mary Hammann, and Johnette El-Sharif. Her daughter Allison (Kenny Russell), her sons Vernon K Hess Jr. (Odilia) and William Hess (Theresa). Also her grandchildren Zachariah, Veronicah, Joshua Hess; Gregory and Gabrielle Russell; Brandon Hess. As per Charlotte’s request there will be no formal funeral services, just a “Celebration of Life” with her family members in a private venue.
