Judy Marie Kelley
July 15th, 1941 - August 8th, 2023
Judy Marie Kelley, Mesa AZ, age 82 peacefully passed away 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023, at Friendship Village Hospice of the Valley Center. Judy’s loving children and grandchildren were with her first at the hospital then also when she moved into hospice where she succumbed to her medical illnesses. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Florence Bleadorn, her two brothers Billy Bleadorn (Gail) and Neil Bleadorn (Arlene) and survived by her sister Elaine Palmer (Jim). Judy was born in Maquoketa Iowa. She went to Monitcello High School and was state champion in twirling both regular and fire baton. She graduated in 1959 and went on to college at Cedar Rapids Business College where she earned a Secretarial Degree Majoring in Business. Judy met Bruce Brokke and the two married in 1963 and had 3 children. She chose to be a stay-at-home mom to raise the children while they were younger. Once the children were grown, she did return to the workforce. She worked 17 years at the same company, but it was acquired 3 different times. Starting as Garrett Fluid Systems as an Administrative Assistant in 1984 to 1989, then as Department Assistant when Allied Signal Engine System bought them out 1989 to 1998, and finally as an Associate Contract Administrator when Honeywell purchased them 1998 to 2001 when she retired. Judy later met Bill Kelley and married in Las Vegas Sept 29, 2004 and lived happily until his death in 2014. Judy is survived by her and Bill’s children Michael Brokke (Gloria), Deborah Brokke and Suzanne (Brokke) Appleby (Dave), Mike Kelley (Joyce) and John Kelley (Becky), and preceded in death by Patricia (Kelley) Holas (Rick) and Jim Kelley. Judy will also be lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren Amanda (Brokke) O’Callaghan (Jim), Tiffany Brokke, Ariana (Flynn) Critzer (Ryan), Ashley Potts, Christina (Brokke) Moudy (Chris), Lisa, Steve, Tricia, Justin, Mike Jr, Jack, Christian, Amy, Jamie, Michelle and Nick; as well as 9 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life in honor of Judy’s remarkable journey will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together and commemorate the wonderful memories they shared.
