Steven Joe Norwood

Steven Joe Norwood June 1st 1954 - December 30th 2017 Steven Joe Norwood 63, passed away December 30, 2017, after a brief battle of ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease. He was born on June 1, 1954 to Joe E and Dorothy Lavine Norwood in Benton Kentucky. Steve was affectionately known by his friends as Woody. He will be remembered for his generous big heart, love of animals and making everyone laugh. He would give the shirt off his back to help a friend in need and take in every stray dog he came across. He was active in AA, mountain biking and loved to golf; one of his favorite golfing memories was to see this father make a hole in one. On November 27th 2009 Steve married the love of his life Sherry Ann Buntin. Steve learned and loved to use God's name Jehovah. He began studying the Bible. Steve was a Truck Driver /owner operator and worked for various trucking companies for over 34 years before retiring In June of 2016. Upon retiring he gave back to the community by working part time with the Area Agency on Aging. Seniors Serving Seniors providing transportation to needed doctor appointments and or just shopping. Steve was preceded in death by his Mother Dorothy Lavine Norwood. Steve is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann and step-children, Duane Buntin, Laquetta Chavez, Stephanie Buntin, Christopher Buntin, Cameron Buntin and a host of grandchildren: This father and Step Mother Joe and Mardi Norwood and by his sister Sherri Lee and her son Colin Joe Norwood. A memorial service will be held at 1Pm January 7th 2018 at Samaritan Funeral 1505 E McDowell Road, Phoenix AZ 85006
