Mary Pauline Shields

Mary Pauline Shields, age 98, died peacefully on January 17, 2021 at her home in Oro Valley, Arizona. Mary was born on November 15, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Katherine and Joseph Brincko. Mary moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1947 where she met her future husband Orville Shields and they were married August 27, 1949. Her beloved husband proceeded her in death on October 11, 1992. Mary is survived by her five children: Marilee Meyer, husband James, son Noah Meyer and wife Emily and daughter Elizabeth, daughter Amy Mueller, husband Graham and children Paul and Violet, her daughter Jenny Rosser and husband Alex; Suzanne Shields, husband James Boling and daughter Candace; David Shields, wife Linda and children Benjamin, Annie, and Robbie; Wayne Shields; and Lori Watson and daughter Erin. Mary was a devoted wife and mother who showed unconditional love for her family and friends. In her eyes, her children and their children were all beautiful and brilliant. She had a quick and keen wit and a ready smile for all. Her view of her life with family and friends was one of delight and wonderment. Mary was a devoted Catholic and lived her faith daily placing her trust in the Lord. Mary’s family thanks all of her caregivers at Fairwinds Desert Point, Senior Home Care of Tucson, and Casa de la Luz Hospice for all of the wonderful care and kindness shown to our mother. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, January 27 2021, at 11:00 AM at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 8650 N. Shannon Road.
