Carl James Porter

Carl Porter was born to Cisro and Lorene Porter on July 3rd, 1941 in Tyler Texas. Carl was a devoted husband and a loving father. Carl attended Dixie Elementary School and Emmit Scott High School in Tyler Texas and went on to attend College in Phoenix Arizona. Carl worked as a supervisor in the Janitorial department at Good Samaritan hospital. In 1981 he opened up his own janitorial business called Porter Janitorial Services. Carl ran his Janitorial business with his Wife Shelly for the next 32 years. Over the years Carl opened his heart and his home to a host of family members and friends. Once he retired he went to foster Parent College and became a foster parent in 2012. Carl was quiet but he had a voice that would demand your attention. He cared deeply for his children and he always gave them advice when they asked. Carl loved to go fishing and often spent time with friends singing karaoke he always brought joy to the ones around him. Carl was preceded in death by his parents (Cisro Porter and Lorene Porter), his brothers Bishop C.F. Porter, Willie Porter, sisters Roberta Redwine, Leora Miller, Dorothy Anderson, Juanita Porter, Evelyn Porter, Doris Johnson and Linnie Robinson. Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 45 years, Shelly. His children: Carl Porter Jr ( Cantrece), Ira Jones ( Johnny) , Ladeena Porter, Maureen Eppinger, Beverly Eppinger, Latisha Porter, Teresa Porter, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
