Juan Manuel Amezcua Alvarez
May 11th, 1952 - July 8th, 2020
Juan Manuel Amezcua of Avondale, Arizona, passed away July 8, 2020. Born in Potrerillos, Jalisco, Mexico in 1952 to Juan and Maria de Jesus Amezcua. Juan moved to Oregon in 1972 to work in the lumber industry and in 1976 settled in California to work in furniture manufacturing. Juan relocated to Arizona in 1999 where he worked in construction until retirement. Juan was a loving husband, devoted father, and caring grandpa. He enjoyed playing soccer, having a good time with family and friends with lots of food and loud music. Juan is survived by Maria Refugio Amezcua, his wife of 43 years, and four children, Elena, Juan Jr. (JoAnna), Adrian (Belen) and Graciela (Matt) and his 6 grandchildren, Eva, Esmee, Eliana, Emilio, Nathan and Aaron. Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 21,2020 at 9 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 800 W. Loma Linda Blvd., Goodyear. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix. Arrangements entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. Due to the pandemic and current gathering restrictions, the Amezcua Family will be honoring Juan in 2021 with a Celebration of Life once the pandemic is over and it is safe for all to gather
