James Lyons Kirkpatrick Jr., 84, of Phoenix, passed away on December 27, 2020 in Phoenix, AZ. James is survived by his loving spouse of 44 years, Diane, and three sons, James L Kirkpatrick, III (wife; Sandi), Chris Kirkpatrick (wife; Lisa), Tim Kirkpatrick (wife; Julie); two daughters, Dawn Stoekl (husband; Joe), Kelly Dicksen (husband; Bob); three grandsons, David Stoekl (Stephanie), Jack Kirkpatrick, Jordan Dicksen (Christina); and four granddaughters, Erin Kirkpatrick, Kelsey Dicksen, Laney Kirkpatrick, and Brooke Kirkpatrick. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 6th, 1936 to James and Alice (Kloss) Kirkpatrick. James attended school in Milwaukee and graduated in 1954. James had a deep passion for serving his community and his country. James served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and worked as a Fire Fighter/EMT for the Blue Island Fire Department for 12 years. James married Diane on Aug 31, 1976 and together James and Diane have lived in south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois until 1994 and have resided in Phoenix, AZ for the last 26 years. Throughout it all, he brought commitment, dedication, perseverance, and a strong sense of ethics to his work and to his family. He was a proud member of The American Legion in both Illinois and Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lyons Kirkpatrick Sr., his mother, Alice Kirkpatrick and his two brothers Gerald Kirkpatrick and Patrick Kirkpatrick. Graveside Service will be held on January, 22nd, 2021 at 11:00 am at: Valley of the Sun 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248 Masks and social distancing is required.
