Deleda Adeline Roper Deleda Adeline Roper passed away peacefully on February 18, 2018. She was born November 25, 1919 in Blue Ridge, Georgia to William and Ollie Watson. She was the oldest of 6 siblings. Deleda married Glenn Roper on July 5, 1938 in Port Angeles, Washington. Deleda started work as a cook for the Springfield School District in 1962. When she retired in 1982 she was the Head Cook at Thurston Grade School. After retirement, Deleda took up painting and enjoyed painting pictures for her family and friends. She loved to sew, crochet and knit. She was also an avid reader, gardener and loved her flowers. Deleda was a longtime member of TOPS and was the official weight recorder for over 20 years. Deleda was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her daughter Nancy Burian. Brothers, Bud, Lonnie and Earl Watson. Sisters Mae Millsap and Marie Dorval. Survivors include her sons Jim (Kay) Roper, Ken (Sheri) Roper. Eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, fifteen great great grandchildren and three great great great grandchildren Memorial Service will be held Sunday March 4, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Memorial Funeral Home. Remembrances can be made to the Alzheimer Association.
