Calvin Cook Calvin L. Cook was born on July 20, 1949 to Barbara and Dalta Cook in Noti, Oregon. He was the oldest of two children. Calvin graduated Elmira High School in 1967. He is survived by his wife, Linda Cook, Father, Dalta Cook, Brother, Gene Cook (Noti Oregon), sons Dennis Cook (Tucson, Arizona), James Cook (Harrisburg, Oregon) and three grandchildren, Rebekah, Payton, and Tiger. Calvin was hired on with Southern Pacific Rail Road as a Locomotive Engineer in 1969 working a 40 year career. He retired in 2009 after working out of Ogden, Utah and the Pacific Northwest Division of the Rail Road. Besides working for the Rail Road, Calvin also was a farmer working the land owned by his father Dalta. He enjoyed hay season, feeding his cows, and cutting firewood for the winter season. Calvin had many social connections over the years taking his friendships very seriously. He was always close to his roots in Noti socializing with his closest friends. Calvin traveled with Linda to the Yachats for weekend getaways. Calvin also had a love for sports and red sports cars and collecting silver coins. Of the many animals Calvin cared for over the years, he had one specific horse he loved most, Frankie. A graveside inurnment service is planned for Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Sailor Cemetery in Noti. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
