Annie Mae McFarland was born in Jackson Tenn, on March 9, 1938 to Harry and Georgia Mae Jones, joining the family with older brothers Jerry and Harold Lee. Born after Annie’s arrival were younger brothers Lois and Floyd and sisters Joyce and Bonnie. Annie was preceded in death by all of her siblings with the exception of Floyd who lives in California. Annie grew up under difficult conditions in the depression era in a migrant farm working family and used to tell us stories about share cropping, picking cotton and a few of the friendships she made growing up. In 1952 Annie met a young soldier just home from the Korean War and married him that year. In August 1964 Annie gave birth to her eldest child, Jackie Tryon (Andy Tryon husband since 1983) and Richard Dean (Cassandra Horton engaged) in September 1965. Annie worked out of her home as a daycare babysitter from the late 1960’s to 1983 when she used her mercy servant gifts becoming a CNA with Tucson V.A. receiving numerous awards and commendations, retiring in 2003 with an exemplary service record. Annie continued to work in home health care until she was injured at work and fully retired in 2018. Annie said goodbye to husband Jack on June 24, 2014 when he passed into eternity. Annie will be remembered for her loyal friendship, love of family and willingness to take in strays, misfits and folks who had no where to turn. Annie was Mom to 2 children, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren!
