Billie "Bookie" Lou Jensen June 27, 1929 - October 13, 2023 Billie "Bookie" Lou Jensen, aged 94, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2023, in her cherished Tucson, Arizona, where she had called home for nearly a century. Born on June 27, 1929, in Tucson, she was the beloved daughter of William Wittkopp and Helen Crosby. Bookie's life was defined by her unwavering love for knowledge and community. She began her educational journey at Tucson High School and continued her pursuit of learning at the University of Arizona. In her youth, she crossed paths with her life partner, Donald Jensen, with whom she embarked on countless adventures and shared an enduring love. Throughout her lifetime, Bookie embraced a multitude of roles, each leaving a lasting impression. She was a dedicated member of the Amphi School Nurses team, excelled in the realm of real estate, and found joy in games, whether it was cards, dice, or dominos. Her interests were as diverse as her pursuits, including birdwatching, boating, quilting, painting, and even the wonder of whale watching. An enthusiastic member of the Winnebago Club, she frequently set off on open-road adventures in her treasured Bounder. Bookie was more than just a family member; she was the pillar that held the family together. A master at sharing information within the family, she was the vital link connecting everyone. Bookie had a special talent for bringing people together, earning her the title of the "I'll call you as soon as possible" club. Her love for bridge and bowling further enriched her social connections, and she thrived in the tight-knit communities she embraced. Her summers in Pinetop-Lakeside were cherished, as was her active involvement in the Elks Club. Bookie is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jensen, and her sister, Freda Ganem. She is survived by her sister, Charlene Liddington, and her three devoted children, Pamela Bock, Donald Jensen, and Vickie Omann. During her final days, they lovingly and tirelessly cared for her. Her legacy of love lives on in the hearts of her grandchildren: Louie Bock, Christopher Bock, Jessica Howe, Lindsey Reynoso, Jodi Laursen, and Jamie Reisner. Continuing her spirit and love, her great-grandchildren include Nichole, Louis, Kassandra, Lily, James, Luke, Benjamin, and Jon. The joy of great-great-grandchildren brought her Evan, Natalia, Alexis, and Zariah. Billie "Bookie" Lou Jensen was an exceptional woman whose memory will forever inspire all those who were fortunate to know her. While we mourn her absence, her legacy of love, community, and adventure will continue to live on in our hearts. "Though her presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit and love will forever endure in our hearts."
