Florentino Reyes Martinez March 14, 1942- November 23, 2023 In loving memory of our father, Florentino Martinez, 81, who passed away on November 23rd, 2023, surrounded by family. He was the devoted husband of Jackie for 53 years, loving father of son Rene and daughter Latina(Chad) and proud Tata of T.J., Cisco and Cristian. Florentino is survived by brothers Jose D. and Denicio Martinez, sister Ysidra Peralta and numerous nieces and nephews. Florentino, known as Tino, was a dedicated, hard-working man who worked tirelessly to provide for his family and loved ones. Tino served in the United States Army from 1964-1968 before going onto a 43-year career as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He worked for several different companies throughout the years where he made a few lifelong friendships with coworkers. Tino spent his life enjoying yearly family vacations, hunting trips with his brother Jose, working on various DIY home renovations and helping others. He retired in 2008 and continued doing home projects, taking daily walks/hikes, enjoyed watching his grandson’s soccer games and cheering on his favorite teams, the Diamondbacks and Wildcat football/basketball teams. He was often found “tinkering” in his garage and could fix or build just about anything. He had a talent for landscaping and was a skilled craftsman of many trades. Tino will be remembered for his strength, his generosity and supportive nature. Tino was not a man of many words, but you could always depend on him for his guidance and understanding. He had an infectious laugh and a witty sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We would like to thank Catalina Hospice for the care and assistance given to us during his final weeks. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday December 15th, 2023 at 1pm at Adair Funeral Homes-Avalon Chapel, 8090 N Northern Avenue. Please arrive promptly as we will have Military Honors to start the service.
