Mary, age 101, passed away February 13, 2024 at her home in Tucson, Arizona. She is survived by her children Ronald, Donna, and John, daughter-in-law Gail Gibbs, granddaughter Emily Dommershausen and her husband Jay David, great grandchildren Trey and Addy Dommershausen, Daughter-in-law Beth Gibbs and grandson Jason Gibbs and his wife Megan. Mary was born to Ashmer and Fanny Rutter in East Lampeter township, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Paradise with her sister Kathleen and brother Robert. During WWII she proudly worked at the Hamilton Watch Factory in Lancaster in support of the war effort. Mary met Bradford Gibbs in 1945 while he was in the Navy and they were married in Paradise in 1946. Brad was transferred to Moffet Field Naval Air Station in California and they moved to Palo Alto. They later moved to Cupertino, California in 1954 after Brad was discharged from the Navy. Mary was a homemaker and raised three kids. She enjoyed her flower garden, baking, and cooking with fruits and vegetables from their garden. She especially enjoyed browsing through antique shops to enhance her collection. Mary and Brad lived in Cupertino for over 60 years before moving to a retirement living community in Tucson, Arizona in 2016 where they were close to their daughter Donna and son Ron. Brad passed away in 2021. Mary loved sharing stories of her childhood, family, and friends. Mary passed away peacefully at home with her family around her.
