Sandra Lee Rausch age 84 survived by siblings Janice (Robert) Brent, Norman (Diana) Rausch, James Rausch and numerous nieces and nephews and great nephews and great nieces. Preceded in death by her parents Ralph P. Rausch and Ruth Walter and her siblings Ralph W (Jo Ann) Rausch, Joyce (Robert) Caskey, Carol (Delbert) Wells. Born in Aurora, Il on May 8, 1939. Died on March 13, 2024 in Oro Valley, AZ. Sandra graduated from East Aurora High School in 1956 and from IL State University in 1960 and received her Masters Degree from IL State University in 1968. Taught in Special Education for 34 years in both elementary schools (East St. Louis, IL) (Riverside, IL)(Oak Brook, IL) and high schools (West Leyden, IL)(Downers Grove, IL). Retired in 1994 from Downers South High School Developmental Education Department. For retirement she moved to Oro Valley, AZ. in 1997 with Lorri Jordan. They enjoyed traveling in a motor home in the USA, Canada and Mexico. While in AZ she became a very loyal fan of University of AZ sports and was also a member of the ATC. Sandy was a volunteer driver for ICS and mentor at Tucson High School for many years. She also became a supporter for YOTO, Stand Up for Kids and many other charities both locally and nationally. Golf was her passion until rheumattoid arthritis made her hands unable to hold a club. She and her unique spirit will be missed. There will be a viewing at 9:30 followed by a mass starting at 10:00 at St Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 2727 W. Tangerine Rd. Oro Valley. Reception to follow at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, LaCanada/Magee. In lieu of flowers, donations to YOTO, 2525 N. Country Club, Tucson AZ 85716: Stand Up for Kids, PO Box 40484, Tucson, AZ 85717-0484, or Muscular Dystrophy Association will be appreciated. Burial will be in Aurora, IL.
