Peter A. Cento, 7/14/1939 - 10/2/2013. Peter Anthony Cento was born in Brooklyn, New York, to John and Josephine Cento. He moved to Tucson in 1947 and attended Sts. Peter and Paul and Salpointe (Class of '60). He worked at Kitt Peak and retired from Raytheon after 30 years. Peter loved to travel to Spain and was an enthusiastic Wildcat and Diamondback fan. Peter found pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He enjoyed playing with his dogs, Maya and Lola. Pete loved tinkering with computers. His favorite hobby was being a ham radio operator; K7RML has moved on to a heavenly frequency. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Elisa; son and daughter-in-law, John and Leanna Cento; daughter, Melisa Cento; sister, Josephine; sister-in-law, Chari. Papa Pete will be missed by his two loving grandchildren, Robert and Rylee. Peter has many special family and friends, who will miss him very much. A visitation and rosary will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. (85704), 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 10, 2013, with rosary at 7:30 p.m. A celebration mass for Pete will be held at St. Odilia Catholic Church on Friday, October 11, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or the American Lung Association.
