David Seifert died in his sleep on January 23, 2014, after a long struggle with serious illness. Dave lived in the Washington D.C. area before moving to Tucson. He was always active in community affairs, including supervising Appalachian Trail maintenance, serving on citizens' panels, volunteering at the Tucson Medical Center, and docenting for 18 years at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Dave's chosen epitaph: "He gave a damn!" Dave was the beloved husband of Cathie Seifert, devoted stepfather of Lisa Ellis and Christi Price, dear brother of Sue Theobald, and adored grandfather of Susie, Allison, Emily and Catherine. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Gentlemen, no ties, please! Donations may be made to the Desert Museum through desertmuseum.org or mailed to the Museum at 2021 N. Kinney Road, Tucson, AZ 85743 - to the attention of the Development Office.
