Edward Benson Rife Born December 28, 1936 in Akron Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on August 31, 2014. Ed is preceded in death by his son, Michael, and survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy, and their daughters: Christie (Gregg), Cathy (Dave) and daughter-in-law, Jené. He is also survived by brother, Gary and brother-in-law, Bill Cottle. Ed's true love was his family. He was devoted to and proud of his children. His grandchildren meant the world to him and his spirit will carry on through Tyler, Jamie, Tamison, Kylie, Kevin, Taylor, and Dylan. Ed loved sports, especially baseball. He was inducted into the Greater Akron Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987. At age 77, he ended his baseball legacy with the Tucson Old Timers (TOTs) team, who provided him with fun, friendship and fellowship. A special thank you to the Pepe's House Hospice staff for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AIBC Youth Baseball Team, 33 W. Congress St. #215, Tucson, AZ 85701, the Tucson Community Food Bank or a charity of choice.
