James Michael Moore was born on August 21, 1953 in Philadelphia and subsequently lived with his family in Nova Scotia, Scotland, Georgia, Alameda and Ridgecrest before moving to Tucson in 1981. Jim worked for Border States Electric for over 30 years as an Inside Industrial Salesman where his "magic with numbers," humor and kindness won him many lifelong friendships. An avid hunter and backpacker, he also studied the behavior of deer and elk, earning himself the nickname "The Elk Whisperer" from his family members. A soccer player in his youth, he later coached children's soccer teams in Tucson. Jim loved to quote the Beatles, "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." During heated family discussions, he often times shortened it to a question "What happens in the end?" forcing us all to say in unison "The love you take is equal to the love you make." Surrounded by family and friends at the end of his life on September 11, 2014, he saw the fulfillment of all of his love. Predeceased by his grandniece, Audra Sparks, Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathy Moore; siblings, Leslie Schmidt Crans (Peter), Laurie Des Jardin (Jim), Michael Moore (Amy) and Dale Moore; siblings-in-law, Betty Pate (John), Leslie Broaker, Denise Wehle, Cindy Harding (Stan), Robert Bock (Nikki) and Susan Bock (Bruce); nieces, Kelly (Chris), Ceara, Nikki and Brianna; nephews, Greg (Barbara), Peter (Hagar), Mike (Sara), John, Taylor, Trevor, Max, Niels, Michael, Austin, Merideth, Rosie and grandniece, Ireland. Jim you are missed more than you would have ever guessed. Knowing that you are safe in the arms of our Lord is our comfort. Love you so much! Rosary will be Friday, September 19, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel on Northern Ave. Memorial Mass will be Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Desert at the Redemptorist Renewal Center at 7101 W. Picture Rocks Rd. in Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Casa De Los Niños.
