John (Jack) Henry Johnston John (Jack) Johnston was born and grew up in Shelton, Washington. He graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Communications. He had a career in radio broadcasting and television advertising in Washington and Oregon. He was well known for his sense of humor. In 1968 he traveled to entertain troops in Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marion, son Larry Blake and wife Cheryl of Veneta, daughter Jean and husband Douglas Cogdill of Clinton, Utah, eight grandchildren and nine great-children. He and Marion served six missions for the L.D.S. church abroad and in the United States. A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 3132 River Road, Eugene, Oregon 97404 on Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Hearts for Hospice Oregon at 1430 Willamette St. #184, Eugene, Oregon 97401 or the L.D.S. missionary fund. Arrangements entrusted to Poole-Larsen Funeral Home.
