Joann Appleton Mrs. Joann Appleton was born on February 14, 1931 in Greenville, South Carolina to Vera and Haywood Curry. She departed this life with her family at her side on March 10, 2015 at her home in Tucson, Arizona where she lived with her husband for the past 51 years. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Joann met and married her beloved husband, George Douglas Appleton on October 17, 1952 while he was stationed in her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. Their union was blessed with five children. She is survived by her beloved husband, George; her sister, Francis Wynn of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; five wonderful children, Alexis, George Jr., (Carol Appleton), David, Dauphne Taylor (Eugene Taylor) who reside in California, and Steve who resides in Phoenix, Arizona, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Tommy Lee Appleton, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, granddaughter and niece. Memorial Service Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel. 1050 N.
