Christine McNamara
March 19th, 1965 - May 31st, 2015
Christine McNamara 50, passed away on May 31, 2015 with her family by her side after battling brain cancer for several months. She is survived by her husband, Christopher McNamara, 44, of Tucson; son, Kelly, 15 and daughter, Katherine, 13. Christine is also survived by her parents, Roger and Mary Sattelberg of North Tonawanda, New York; sister, Colleen Fermoile (Marc) and dogs, Chip and Cooper. Christine was born in North Tonawanda, New York, on March 19, 1965. She graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York in 1987. For nearly 20 years, Christine worked at Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging where she was Chief Financial Officer. Throughout her life, Christine was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. She found great joy in family life, especially the time she spent at her childrens' sports and dance events. Christine loved music, classic rock being her favorite, and never missed an opportunity to see Kiss in concert. Christine also donated much of her energy to causes that were important to her. As a lifelong member of the Girl Scouts, Christine was for many years a board member and board president of the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona. She also was a Girl Scout troop leader for many years. The United Way is another organization Christine volunteered with and spent several years on the organization's southern Arizona board. Funeral Services for Christine are planned for Friday, June 5, 2015 at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church, 4725 E. Pima Street. Visitation with family is planned from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. After the Mass a reception is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging, 2221 N. Rosemont Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made in Christine's honor to the Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona or the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona.
