She was born in Portland, Oregon on April 7, 1927 to Cornelius and Jeanne Linsen, who immigrated from Holland to Canada and then to the Portland area. Frances was the 7th girl in a family of 3 boys and 9 girls. Frances attended Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from Jefferson High in 1944. They moved to Eugene in 1962 and together established the Flyin’ Scot Drive-In, a popular burger and chicken restaurant, and the first of four Flyin’ Scot establishments. After selling the restaurants, they bought The Village Inn Lounge in Springfield. Frances was an accomplished bowler, enjoyed playing Bridge, and creating beautiful oil paintings. She loved to entertain and was known for her kindness and humor. She will be greatly missed. Curtis preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by two sisters: Clara and Marjorie from the Portland area. Frances was the mother of: Douglas, Washougal, WA; Steven preceded her in death in 1971; Susan (Damon), Vida, OR; Gary, Springfield, OR; David (Kim), Eugene, OR.
