L.J Stogner
November 4th, 1936 - February 29th, 2016
L.J. was born on November 4th 1936 in Sudan Texas to J.L. and Cassie Stogner. A resident of Tucson at 6 months of age, until he passed on Monday February 29th 2016. He was preceded in death by his Father J.L., his Mother Cassie, and his Brother Jerry Stogner. L.J. is survived by Wife Norma Stogner, Sisters Loretta Ewing (Bill) and Loretha Valdez (Mike) Children Larry Stogner (Georgia)- Lora Saine (Frank)- and Lyle Stogner (Katrina). Grandchildren Joseph, Philip, Jason, Eston, Chaz, Elyssa, Nicolas and Lindsey, Robert and MJ. Great Grandchildren Connor, Milani, Preston, Devin, Adrian, Jayden, Charlii, Damion and Trinity. LJ spent his childhood at Sunset Dairy. He attended Laguna School at the age of 6 years, by horse and buggy. He then attended Flowing Wells through the 9th grade. He completed his primary schooling at Amphitheater High school…where he played Varsity football until he graduated in 1956. After graduating he went into the Army, stationed at Fort Knox for basic training. He returned to marry Norma on December 27th, 1956 before he was shipped off to Straubing Germany. He served 3 years there as a field medic. L.J. and Norma returned back to Tucson in 1959, with a 9month old baby boy. LJ worked for Lilly ice-cream and Tucson Rock and Sand before he went to Mortuary Collage in Los Angles in 1968 for nearly a year. He retired from Adair funeral home after 37 years. He was a long time Optimist Club member, serving as President for one term. He was a Cub Scouts and Royal Ambassador Leader. His last endeavor was teaching Sunday school at Northwest Baptist Church. L.J. was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend who served his Lord and now walks with Jesus and runs with angels.
