Evelyn "Rentel" Violet Rogalsky
September 1st, 1921 - January 31st, 2016
Evelyn Violet (Rentel) Rogalsky, 94, passed into eternal life with Jesus on January 31, 2016. She was born September 1, 1921, in Garfield, NJ, to Adolph and Jennie (Slebodnik) Rentel, and was the youngest of four children. She is survived by her son Randy Rogalsky and daughter Lynn Rogalsky. Evelyn married Albert Rogalsky in 1946 and they spent the next 56 years together. She was an extremely devoted wife and loving mother. They moved from New Jersey to Tucson in 1959 to improve the health of their daughter who had asthma. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper in New Jersey and, after moving to Arizona became the bookkeeper for Al's house painting business. She also had a fondness for dogs and cats, of which the family had many! When their children were grown, Evelyn volunteered in the gift shop at the University Medical Center (UMC) to give back to the Tucson community. Evelyn spent many years bowling in a league and won several trophies. She took up art as a hobby and became an accomplished acrylic painter, including other crafts. She enjoyed dancing all her life and loved traveling, especially to Seaside Heights, NJ, the family's favorite vacation spot. Evelyn was a keen card player and was active in Jacob's Jesters card club at Jacob's Park Community Center in Tucson for many years. A longtime member of Casas Church (formerly Casas Adobes Baptist Church), she also supported many Christian charities. Important to Evelyn was her faith in her Savior Jesus Christ. Evelyn kept her keen mind, sharp wit, and sense of humor throughout her life. She was always good with numbers even into her 90's. She loved life, laughter and enjoyed the company of others, especially relatives. Evelyn always had an eye for fashion, and dressed to look her best. As a woman of faith, she served as an inspiration to her family and many friends. Evelyn's charm and warm personality will be deeply missed. She will be forever loved by her family, friends, and relatives. She touched the lives of all who knew her. A celebration of Evelyn's long and loving life will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Barrier Chapel at Casas Church, 10801 N. La Cholla Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Evelyn's favorite charity, Smile Train, or the American Lung Association.
