Austin Anthony Jensen

AUSTIN ANTHONY JENSEN 10/02/1925 - 11/26/2017 Austin was born in Harvey, ND on Oct. 2, 1925 to Ralph Otto and Mary Mt. Carmel Jensen. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene (DeJarlis) and two brothers, Fr. Ralph and Thomas. He is a Navy Veteran of WW II serving as a Quartermaster on an LCT from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific. He graduated from Loyola University in Chicago, IL in 1948. His work history included 8 years at Spiegel 's Mail Order Catalog as a time study engineer. His next 15 years were with Motorola. When his division was bought by a Japanese company, Matsushita, he continued for another 15 years as the payroll manager. After his wife's death from cancer, he retired to Tucson, AZ where he met and married Pat (Berry/Finnegan) on 3/17/1990. He is survived by seven children: Tom (Betsy) CO, Donna (Mike Mencinger) AZ, Mark (Patti) IL, Chris (Donna) IL, Lisa (Ben Buckworth) UT, Matt IL, Andy (Tracy) IL. He was also the stepfather to his present wife's children: Nancy (Dan Gorman) NY, Tom (Barb)Finnegan IL, Sally Thayer IL, and Susan (Brian Gillespie) IL. Together they have 26 grandchildren and spouses and Austin has 9 2/3 great-grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wed., Dec. 27, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd., Tucson, AZ 85718. A reception will follow in the parish hall. The actual burial will take place in IL in April. He always said he strived to be a faithful servant of God and do his best. And he did. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society; Servants of Mary, C/O Sr. Iris Deprez, OSM, 7400 Military Ave., Omaha, NE, 68134, or to the charity of your choice.
