Ortenzia "Tange" Adams

Ortenzia Cumpata Adams May 11, 1925- December 22, 2017 Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Ortenzia, known as "Tange" to her family and friends, leaves a legacy of love of family. She was married to her beloved husband Harold Glendon Adams for 59 years, before he passed away in 2005. She is survived by their three children, Patrick Adams (June) of Sandy, Utah, Susan Adams Taylor (Floyd) of Olathe, Kansas, and Christina Adams (Donnie Patrick) of Tucson, Arizona. Tange also leaves behind her six grandchildren Nicholas Adams, Caitlin Adams, Adam Taylor (Amanda), Ashley Ruegsegger (Danny), Stefanie Hernandez, and Michelle Hernandez, and two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Ruegsegger and Chase Ruegsegger. She is also survived by her siblings, Emelia Brock of Mississippi, John Cumpata of Michigan and Anna McCrimmon of North Carolina. Tange was born in Winfield, IL, the daughter of John Vasile and Valeria Maria (Klotzer) Cumpata. She was raised in Aurora, IL as one of 8 children. Following high school Tange was a bank teller in Naperville where she met her husband Harold. They married in 1946, moved to Naperville, IL and raised three children. Along with being a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker, Tange was also a successful business woman. She helped Harold run their family business, Adams Welding. She was very active in the Judd Kendall Post #3873 VFW as the Ladies Auxiliary president. She always found time to help others. The family moved to Adams-Friendship, WI in 1967 where they owned a cattle farm, real estate brokerage and a laundromat business. Tange, so eloquently, held many roles, wife, mother, bookkeeper, farmer, gardener, seamstress and 4H Leader. In search of warmer weather, the family move to Tucson, AZ in 1972. Tange and Harold happily owned and ran Romero Plaza for eight years. Tange was the face, heart and soul of Olivers Cleaners and the laundry services. She loved her patrons and co-workers. In 1980, they retired to a beautiful home in Oro Valley on "Grandma and Grandpa's Mountain (The Catalinas). Tange, then 55, decided to return to banking and worked for First Interstate/Wells Fargo for 10 years where she made many lasting friendships. She just loved people. Our mom had many enduring qualities, hobbies and loves. She was very loving, strong, smart and passionate. She loved musicals, the Boston Pops, she loved watching the Arizona Wildcats and golf, she loved crossword and jigsaw puzzles, she loved hummingbirds and quail. She was an amazing cook with many family favorite recipes like stuffed cabbage, pirogies and brownies. She loved entertaining and always looked forward to the holidays. Her favorite memories were always of her family, her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and will never be forgotten. Services will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 1431 W. Magee Rd. Memorials should be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
