Pedro Luis Escobar MD
January 29th, 2018
Pedro Luis Escobar, M.D., born in Cali, Colombia, passed away on January 29, 2018 at Northwest Hospital at the age of 79. Pedro earned his doctorate of medicine at the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia and moved to the United States for his medical residency training. He met and subsequently married the love of his life - a wonderful nurse named Mary Ucker. In 1984, Pedro and his family relocated to Tucson, AZ, where he established a successful Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation practice. He became a recognized expert in the treatment of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. For the next three decades, he cared for and improved the quality of life of his many patients. Pedro was a long-time parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, serving as lector and Eucharistic minister. He enjoyed watching soccer and was passionate about the traditional music of Colombia. Pedro served God and loved his family. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mary; his daughters Maria (Mark), Christina (Mathew), and Carla (Seth); his grandchildren Phoebe, Zachary, Mason, and Lucas; as well as his five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed. Pedro's rosary will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 1946 E.
