Sharon Ann Mickelson
February 4th, 1943 - March 6th, 2018
Sharon Ann Mickelson, 75, passed away peacefully as the result of Alzheimer's disease on March 6, 2018, surrounded by her dear friends and family at her residence at The Villas of La Canada in Tucson, AZ. Sharon was born on February 4, 1943, to Merlyn and Agnes (Kaveney) Mickelson in Wadena, MN. The family later moved to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, and Sharon attended St. Leo's grade school and Our Lady of Peace High School. She spent time studying at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN, and eventually graduated from Clarke College in Dubuque, IA, with a major in Art. Sharon spent her early career at the Convent of the Visitation School in Mendota Heights, MN, as a Montessori teacher, and later became a Realtor for Edina Realty. In her off time, Sharon loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, countless friends, and family. She was always outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing, and gardening. She will be remembered for her humor, intelligence, sense of fun, and caring. Sharon was always ready to step in and lend a hand to anyone in need. Sharon is survived by her father, Merlyn F. Mickelson, of Marana, AZ, and Rosemount, MN, her loving sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra Iverson, of Lakeville, MN, and Suellen and Mike McGowan, of Marana, AZ, as well as nephew Eric Iverson and wife, Melissa Rawana Iverson, of Lakeville, MN, niece Heidi Iverson Sporre and husband, Jeff Sporre, niece Pamela McGowan Dally and great-niece, Hailey Dally, of Oro Valley, AZ, and nephew, Scott McGowan, of Tucson, AZ, as well as many extended family members. Sharon is preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Kaveney Mickelson, grandparents Rose and Joseph Kaveney and Karen and Casper Mickelson, and aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018, at 10:00 am at Adair Avalon Chapel, Oro Valley, AZ. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rosemount, MN, with visitation before at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN.
