Marlene Helen Altenstadter Marlene Altenstadter, 77, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2018 in Tucson. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she is survived by her husband, James Altenstadter of Tucson, son, Kevin (Sheila) Altenstadter of Louisville, Kentucky, daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Seneca of San Carlos, California, sister, Nancy Davis of Tucson and grandchildren, Sierra Altenstadter, Savana Altenstadter, Cheyenne Seneca, Isaac Seneca, and Lucas Seneca. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Delora Mathews, daughter, Melissa Reilly Gardiner, and brother, Richard Mathews. Marlene attended Heidelberg (Ohio) College and the University of Arizona. She received Diplomes D'Etudes Professionnelles from the L'Academie de Cuisine of Bethesda, Maryland. She was the owner of the Ironman Restaurant and the Nutcracker Sweets bakery in Bisbee, Arizona. Marlene worked at L'Auberge Chez Francois in Great Falls, Virginia and The Arizona Inn in Tucson. Her family gratefully thanks the caring staffs of Pacifica Senior Living and Casa de la Luz Hospice.
