Robert Lawrence Wenzel
March 9th, 1935 - May 21st, 2018
Robert Lawrence Wenzel, 83, of Tucson, passed away on May 21, 2018 at his home. He was born on March 9, 1935 to Richard and Irene (Milliman) Wenzel in Sturgis, MI. He spent the first half of his life in MI, working as a superintendent at George A Odien Underground Construction. He moved to Tucson in 1978 and continued in the construction field with Bruce Greer and NAC Construction companies. He was a member of St.Odilia and St.Thomas Catholic Churches, served as a church usher, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a veteran of the US Army. He was married to his loving wife, Laura Lee Heinlen for 61 years. She preceded him in death, along with his grandson Conor. He is survived by his daughters Vicky (Dan), Cindy (Toby), Marty, Kristy (Neal), and Michelle, 14 grandchildren and 7.5 great-grandchildren He was an avid fan of the UofM and UofA sports, enjoyed family and sharing meals with friends. Two Celebrations of Life will be held. In Tucson, Monday, June 18, 11:00 amat St. Odilia Catholic Church with a reception immediately following. In Sturgis, Michigan, July 29, 11-2 at Sturges- Young Auditorium
